Traditional High Poker Hand Ranks
Hold’em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and Five Card Draw all employ the traditional ‘high’ poker rankings. Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, and Stud Hi/Lo employ the ‘Ace to Five’/‘California’ low hand rankings for low hands. 2-7, Single Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw employ the ‘Deuce to Seven’/‘Kansas City’ lowball rankings for low hands.
Finally, Badugi employs an extraordinary ranking of hands exclusive to that game.
Traditional High Poker Hand Ranks:
Straight poker Flush: Five cards in series, of the similar suit.
In the event of a tie: Highest rank at the top of the series succeeds.
The most excellent probable straight flush is recognized as a royal flush, which consists of the ace, king, queen, jack and ten of a suit.
A royal flush is an unconquerable hand.
Four of a Kind: Four cards of the similar rank, and one side card or ‘kicker’.
In the event of a tie: Highest four of a kind succeeds. In community card games where players contain the similar four of a kind, the highest fifth side card ‘kicker’ succeeds.
Full House: Three cards of the similar rank, and two cards of a dissimilar, corresponding rank.
In the event of a tie: Highest three identical cards succeeds the pot. In community card games where players contain the similar three identical cards, the maximum value of the two similar cards succeeds.
Flush: Five cards of the identical suit.
Straight: Five cards in series
When wild cards in poker are used it is better that you remember what you are using the card for. The interesting thing is that you can use the wildcard for the card that you have been longing for and you did not yet get.
